I’ve lived in Koh Phi Phi for many years and still love the island as much as when I first stepped off that boat, in 2005.
Yes, Phi Phi Island has transformed and developed a lot over the years, but that doesn’t change the fact that it is still the paradise I discovered years ago. And without any doubt one of the most beautiful islands in Thailand.
If you are an adventurer or lazy bum, the thrill-seeker, the island hopper, the backpackers or soul searcher, the lone wolf or party goer, Koh Phi Phi has something for everyone.

DAY THREE
Getting to Koh Phi Phi
Getting to the island is very easy. If you are traveling from Bangkok you have to make your way to the south of Thailand- by plane, bus or a train.
The closest airports are Phuket (Rassada Pier) or Krabi (Klong Jilad Pier), from where you can hop on one of the ferries or speedboats, which will take you to the island.
For more information click here: HOW TO GET TO PHI PHI ISLAND?
Ferry boats run few times a day and are fairly comfortable.
The top deck of the ferry doubles up as a sundeck, which is great for those who want to sunbathe. The boat ride takes around two hours. If you want to save time you can also hop on on one of the faster speedboats, which takes half the time.
DAY ONE #1
• RELAXING ON LONG BEACH
• VIEWPOINT AT SUNSET TIME
Long Beach is about 30 minutes walk from the main stretch of the town. It easy to get here by following the west coast trail. You can also grab one of the long tail boat taxies, the ride will cost you 100-150THB per person, depending on the time of the day.
You can enjoy the beach, sunbath, snorkel and swim while sipping on the fresh coconut, or a cool Chang.
Tip: By walking across the hill you can also walk to another quieter beach from here– Loh Moodee Beach.
In the afternoon you can walk up to the Phi Phi VIEWPOINT. It is a must do in Phi Phi Island. If you can, don’t stop at the second viewpoint and head all the way to the third one, it’s less crowded and a great way to sweat off all the pad thais. Entry fee is 50THB per person for viewpoint 1 and 2 and another 20THB for Viewpoint 3.
Tip: All you need to know about Phi Phi Viewpoints.
DAY TWO #2
• BOAT TRIP
• BEACH PARTY AND FIRESHOW
Get out and explore the islands and beaches and enjoy some fantastic snorkeling Phi Phi Island offers.
You can take a private boat or join one of the group trips for some amazing snorkeling and swimming in the lagoons and bays of Phi Phi Lay and Phi Phi Don. There are early morning tours and also some amazing afternoon trips with sunset and night plankton swimming.
Come to Loh Dalum at arund 6pm to sit down, relax and watch some beautiful sunset scenery. Check out Freedom Bar or Cottage Bar for the best atmosphere.
When the sun goes down, at around 9 pm, Thai fire dancers show off their amazing skills, in many of the beach bars and you can join in the fun. The best bars to watch the fire show are at Slinky Bar and Freedom Bar in Loh Dalum bay.
Expect to be dancing barefoot in the sand, sipping on the infamous buckets and getting your body pained by fluorescent colors.

DAY THREE #3
Phi Phi Island has some of the best dive spots in Thailand, and the underwater world is as beautiful as what’s above the water. The boats go to the dive sites twice a day, and you don’t need to have any experience to have a go at scuba diving, so there is no excuse not to try.
To find out more information about scuba diving in Koh Phi Phi and prices please read here: SCUBA DIVING KOH PHI PHI
If you don’t fancy scuba diving, you can rent a kayak or SUP and paddle up to Monkey Beach on the west side of the Phi Phi Don. It takes around 30 minutes.
Be aware, the monkeys are no rookies, they can spot a bag of food or a bottle of drink from mile away, and you’ll be left dehydrated and hungry.
If you fancy going further you can also kayak to Nui Bay and Hin Poo Bay on the other side of the bay, that should take around 45 minutes to one hour.
Where can you find cheap local food?
For a taste of local food visit the THAI MARKET. It is located near the main pier and you can find anything and everything in here. From fresh seafood or fish to mango with sticky rice and all kind of fruit and vegetables. Try some exotic fruit like mangosteene, longongs or durian.
People always ask me often what I love most about the Island and I can never give a simple answer. I suppose I like the ever-changing face of our small village and everything which comes with it.
The beautiful beaches, aquamarine waters, mysterious jungle, sunset views, noisy frogs, crazy monkeys, locals walking around in pj’s….the peaceful morning and the lively nights…all of that and more.
