To enroll in a PADI Open Water Diver course (or Junior Open Water Diver course), you must be 10 years old or older. You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health. No prior experience with scuba diving is required.
The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:
• Knowledge Development (on your own or in our dive shop) to understand basic principles of scuba diving.
• 1 Confined Water Dive to learn basic scuba skills.
• 4 Open Water Dives in Koh Phi Phi National Park to use your skills and explore.
In the Open Water Diver course, you will learn to use basic scuba gear, including a mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, buoyancy control device and a tank.
Open Water Course is normally completed over the duration of 3 days but if you staying longer on the island you can take your time.

DAY 2 In the morning you will do your first two national marine park dives and in the afternoon/evening you can revise your theory and discuss with your teacher.
DAY 3 You will complete your diving by two more dives and in the afternoon you will take your final exam (if you are leaving Phi Phi Island on your 3rd day, you can take the final exam in the evening of the 2nd day).
*We always come back from the morning diving on time in case you want to leave Phi Phi Island on the same day, you can catch the 15.50pm ferry to Krabi/ Aonang/ Railay/ Koh Lanta or 14.30pm/ 15.30pm ferry to Phuket.

SCUBA DIVING IN KOH PHI PHI
QUICK FACTS
Shot to fame by the blockbuster movie “The Beach”, Koh Phi Phi is still one of Thailand’s most popular holiday destinations. Koh Phi Phi is a place to explore white sand beaches, beautiful coves and bays as well as a range of dive sites. The island is surrounded by a national marine park and dive sites are characterized by rugged, coral adorned limestone walls. Vivid soft corals and gorgonian fans are a highlight here combined with colorful shallow coral gardens to explore during your safety stop.
Koh Phi Phi is as fabulous below the ocean’s surface as it is above it. The stunning rock formations continue underwater allowing for some great diving, interesting wall and sloping coral gardens with plenty of nooks and crevices in which critters can hide.
Koh Phi Phis diving is almost exclusively by boat. It has some great local diving and some fabulous sites a little further away too. The conditions locally are suitable for entry level and those newly certified.
WHAT TO SEE
Koh Phi Phi offers some great and colorful reefs with both hard and soft coral. Keep a keen eye on the sand for resting leopard sharks. Clouds of glass fish hang around fissures and small openings often obscuring grouper and maybe some macro delights. Look carefully for mantis shrimp and seahorses. A myriad of reef fish glide passed scorpion fish and around lion fish.
